For many years, I have dreamed of hiking the complete circuit of Terceira, one of the beautiful Azores Islands lying in the heart of the Atlantic Ocean, more than 1,000 miles west of Portugal.
My fascination with the Azores began during my younger years at sea, when these remote volcanic islands captured my imagination. Ever since, I have hoped that one day I would experience their rugged beauty on foot.
If all goes according to plan, that long-held ambition will finally become a reality in early November, when I fly from Dublin to Terceira via Lisbon with TAP Air Portugal. For me, this journey is far more than just another hike—it’s the fulfilment of a dream that has been many years in the making.
